Biden's Family: A Legacy of Law, Activism, and Politics

A Presidential Family with Deep Roots in Public Service

President Joe Biden, the 46th and current president of the United States, comes from a family with a long and distinguished history in law, activism, and politics. The Biden family has deep roots in the White House, with President Biden having served as vice president under former President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017. However, the Biden brood has expanded significantly since his days as second-in-command.

A Growing Family with a Wide Range of Accomplishments

President Biden is the father of five children: Naomi Finnegan and Maisy Biden, with ex-wife Kathleen Buhle; and Hunter Biden, Ashley Biden, and the late Beau Biden, with current wife Jill Biden. His son Beau Biden, a lawyer and politician, tragically passed away in 2015 from brain cancer. President Biden also lost an infant daughter, Naomi, shortly after she was born.

The Biden children have followed in their parents' footsteps by pursuing careers in law, education, and social justice. Ashley Biden is a social worker and activist, while Hunter Biden is a lawyer and businessman. Naomi Finnegan is an attorney and Maisy Biden is an artist and activist. President Biden's grandchildren are also involved in public service, with several of them working in the fields of education and social justice.
